Over the Bank Holiday weekend six of the Stanbrook community participated in the Youth 2000 Summer Festival at Ampleforth Abbey.
On Saturday 24th August Sisters Julian, M. Peter, Marian and Laurentia attended the afternoon session for women and later led a workshop on ‘Praying with the Scriptures’. Participants engaged enthusiastically with the story of Elijah through a prayerful reading of 1 Kings 19.
On Sunday 26th Sisters Philippa and Andrea attended the morning sessions and participated at the Sunday Mass.
It was a great joy to be part of this inspiring event and to see so many young people, families and religious celebrating their faith, exploring life’s big questions and deepening a sense of communion and mission.
