Sr Stephen has been gathering in the apple harvest – a good crop this year, including the Lord Lambournes shown in the photograph.
Rather than one large orchard, we have several micro-orchards in the monastery grounds in sheltered, well-drained spots which catch the sun.

Today, on CAFOD’s Harvest Family Fast Day, we pray for all who struggle to find enough to eat; those whose harvests have failed due to climate change or because of conflict.

And on this last day of the Season of Creation we pray that the fruitfulness of the earth may be restored and protected so that all may share in God’s plenty.
