Benedictine sisters with Stanbrook connection to form a monastic community in the Vatican Gardens.

We are delighted to learn that our Benedictine sisters of Santa Escolástica, Buenos Aires, Argentina, have been invited by Pope Francis to form a monastic community in Mater Ecclesiae monastery in the Vatican Gardens. Six nuns will begin their mission of supporting the Holy Father in his care for the whole Church through prayer, praise, adoration and reparation in January 2024.

Stanbrook has a particular connection with the monastery of Santa Escolástica which was founded from Santa Maria, São Paulo, Brazil, itself founded from Stanbrook in the early twentieth century.
